New York: The bids the club placed for foreign based strikers were rejected, so it appears that the Red Bulls will be going even harder after Macoumba Kandji of the Silverbacks. The issue at this point is acquiring enough allocation money through the league to pay Atlanta's approximate $200,000 transfer fee. I'm wondering that since everything else has fallen through, if the price hasn't gone up. Hardball is a fun game to play, especially with energy drink overlords.
Los Angeles: Bruce Arena, to almost no one's surprise after watching the SuperClasico, is set to be named the new coach of the Gals. We know Bruce and Landon are cool, how about Bruce and Becks? I think as long as Kenny Arena is kept away, everything will be okay.
The attempts to deal Carlos Ruiz are being stepped up as well, in order to bring in Eddie Lewis. That salary cap is killing L.A., huh?
Toronto: The Reds are bringing in former US youth international Johann Smith. He's got great speed, let's see how that translates to MLS play. He never broke into the main squad at Bolton.
Kansas City: Kerry Zavagnin is going to retire at the end of the season. Quality pro, one MLS Cup title, one Open Cup title, one Supporters' Shield, and 21 caps with the national team is nothing to sneeze at. Hopefully he stays involved in the game in some form or fashion...
Seattle: In one of the worst kept secrets of recent times, Kasey Keller is joining the new Sounders next season. Hopefully, they also bring up Chris Eylander from the USL squad to back him up.

Do you think that Kandji would make an impact in the MLS?
i think he'd do very well. he's got size and speed, so whatever he is lacking in his overall game can be taught. he is passionate about the game and wants to be the best he can be. some have said that he has developed a bit of a "star" mentality, but i find him to be just a really nice young man showing no signs of "attitude." he is thrilled about the prospect of going to MLS. while anyone can fail at anything, he's about as close to a can't miss in MLS as i have seen.
