Great piece by Mr. Gardner of Soccer America today, talking about Bruce Arena's first move with the LA Galaxy. I hadn't even realized how he did the same thing in New York.
As for the comments about what Arena wanted to do in DC, I just want to profusely thank Gulati, Doug Logan, and whoever else realized that was insanity.
I would love to hear what Bruce's ideal starting eleven would be...

Bruce is a retread. I think that he peaked at the '02 World Cup and we saw the "true" Arena in '06 - what a disaster!
And behind the mike, he's no Ray Hudson. He and Captain America need to just quietly retire together and go away.
Those two are so miserable that they even hate each other now. Supposedly, they weren't talking towards the end of Arena's run in NY.
I think Bruce was the best short term option that the Gals had. They had to try to get someone experienced in who could get them into the playoffs. They don't have the luxury of being patient, not with the amount of money they're dropping on players.
Bruce made his first mistake by bringing in Eddie Lewis instead of a quality defender. I think I could start for the Gals in the back...
