Why does everyone hate the new USA jersey?

Look, I'm no Project Runway guy here, but I like it. It's simple and smooth. It's nice. Why does everyone out there hate it? What's wrong with it looking good off the field? I think they'll sell more jerseys that way, and isn't that at least one big part of the design?

I'm not quite sure what they wanted instead. I'd rather have this than the current white one, the 2002 World Cup one, the 2002 World Cup qualifying one, and definitely over anything from the adidas days. The only style I like better is the one that was recycled for the navy 2006 World Cup ones, that was originally worn in '95 at Copa America. That's probably my favorite.

I guess I'll be the black sheep on this one, I like it.

so, then, are we fashion geniuses or are we fashion idiots? I like it as well...

then again, I am rapidly approach 40, so maybe it's generational. My wife would certainly say so. (BTW, "generational==clueless" in this context)

I guess the thing is that I could see wearing this to work. Sadly, vertical stripes look much better on me now than horizontal ones.

I applaud your brave stand, Longshoe. But that jersey has all the "pop" of salt-free water crackers. It's what Hootie and the Blowfish would look like as a shirt.

Hey wait, I actually liked Hootie & the Blowfish when they first came out. (Should I say that out loud?)

I dunno, when I think "pop", I think blue denim with stars and I get sick. I just want something simple and classy. This one fits the bill for me.

And Fred, I'm definitely going with geniuses...

So you're saying Taylor and his frosted tips will love it, eh?

Maybe all the emo kids will buy one!

You guys buy wonder bread, drink whole milk at dinner, order vanilla at 31 Flavors? That shirt has no soul.

Not really a fan of the Wonder Bread or whole milk, but vanilla ice cream is pretty good sometimes...

I still like the new jersey, and actually like it even more now that I've seen it on the field with the whole uniform.

I'm just not sure what people wanted out of the new jersey. How would you give it "soul"? I have no idea, maybe we could ask the Project Runway guys?
