I've had more than a few moments of poking fun at Taylor Twellman's expense. He's just one of those guys that bugs you if he's not on your team, and you love him if he's scoring goals for your guys. I put it down to the extra spiky hair and the extra tight jerseys, but who knows?
However, MLS and the Revs are really doing him wrong here. They've turned down a THIRD offer from Preston North End, this time for $3 MILLION. I think the Revs might have lost their minds.
It's been made pretty clear that Taylor wants to go to England. The Revs share of that $3 million, plus the money they made off the Dempsey transfer, could go a long way to bringing in some quality players to upgrade the team.
It's pretty obvious that now will be the time to rebuild in New England. You've lost Dempsey, Andy Dorman, and Pat Noonan. I'm sorry, but Adam Cristman, Wells Thompson, and Sainey Nyassi are just not the same. They let Dorman and Noonan go once they were out of contract and received no compensation for them.
Why would a promising young player want to go to New England after what's happened to Shalrie Joseph and now Taylor Twellman? The Revs just need to learn that sometimes, it's best to take the money you can get for a player, especially when they want to leave, and move on.
