Landon, take note...

Absolutely great column today by Andrea Canales at LA Soccer News. It takes a different look at Beckham and Blanco coming to MLS and how there's a certain segment of the fanbase that is relishing the opportunity to hate them. Hate is becoming a big thing in sports these days, the anti-hero is on the rise. Blanco definitely fits the bill.

Our American friend Landon is kind of stuck in the middle, sort of like Becks. They're both loved by women and kids, but often hated by the guys in the crowd. It's like they're John Cena or something. Maybe Landon should start doing the Five Knuckle Shuffle or saying "You can't see me..." As long as Becks doesn't start freestyling, I think we'll be okay.
