Hugo Sanchez finally gets smart
I'm not the expert on the Mexican soccer scene like Güero, but I've wondered for a good while why Hugo hasn't been playing Guillermo Ochoa of América in goal. I know there's history with Oswaldo, but it's been pretty clear that the guy is on the decline. His hissy fits after giving up a goal, whether it was the defenders in front of him at fault or not, are just sad. Ochoa is young, has played very well for his club, and has been deserving of the chance for a long time now.
I think that Ochoa is officially EL HOMBRE after his performance against Brazil in El Tri's opening match of the Copa America. Ochoa has been making all sorts of huge saves, while Oswaldo is probably screaming at people about his socks being too tight.
Nery Castillo has continued his good form from the Gold Cup final with a sensational goal in the first half, while Ramoncito also scored with an awesome free kick. I know it isn't Brazil's first team, but 2-0 is 2-0. They are pretty lucky though. No Ronaldinho, no Kaka, but the US gets to face Tevez and Messi tomorrow. I hope Kyle Beckerman is ready...
