Sprinkles: Your Pony can't save you this time...

DC: United beat the Tecos reserve squad 3-0 last night in Guadalajara. Emilio, Christian "Danger" Gomez, and newbie Kasali Casal scored. The Chivas coaches were there to check out the game. Jaime Moreno told them to enjoy their cervezas because DC "had nothing to hide". For our Spanish speaking friends, here's a report. I wonder if this improves Casal's chances of seeing the field at the Estadio Jalisco. Still no official word on Fred's clearance.

For more fun, check out BobbyBoswell.com for an interesting video with Emilio. It's in the net!

USWNT: Congratulations to Mia Hamm and her husband, Nomar Garciaparra, on their birth of their twin daughters this morning! So we should expect to see them on the field at the 2020 Olympics, right?

Portland: The MLS bigwigs paid Portland a visit on Tuesday. The Commish has been talking with an unnamed investment group about bringing MLS to Seattle, but that group has now included Portland as a possibility. 2010 is the target, but it could happen as soon as next year.

New England: Former captain Joe Franchino is on an "indefinite leave of absence" to "attend to personal matters". Not sure exactly what's going on there, but it doesn't sound good.

Columbus: The Crew now have college kids talking trash about them. I don't think it's a good thing when you have a college player predicting a win over an MLS team in the local paper. This kid obviously hasn't been paying attention though, the Crew have had a strong preseason. They might actually finish out of the cellar this season!

New York: The latest name attached to the Red Bulls is Juan Pablo Angel of Aston Villa. River Plate is also in the running for Angel. I'd love to see Angel in MLS, but I think he's using MLS to get a better deal in England or with River.

USMNT: No Heath Pearce tonight, he's still suffering from an ankle injury he had prior to camp. I'd like to see some new faces tonight (Cooper, Simek, DeMerit especially).

Chivas USA: This happened late last week, but GM Whit Haskel left the team to pursue other opportunities. No dirt on what exactly happened, but the timing sure is weird.

There's also rumors floating around that there will be another big doubleheader at the Coliseum this year.
