Toronto: Canada's top club (with apologies to Montreal and Vancouver) followed LA's lead in announcing their jersey sponsor. BMO Financial Group, who had previously been announced as the title sponsor of Toronto's stadium, was unveiled as the jersey sponsor.
New York: In one of the worst kept secrets in MLS history, Hunter Freeman was finally announced as the newest Red Bull.
Houston: The Dynamo won their first match in the Carolina Challenge Cup, defeating Toronto 2-0 in Charleston, SC. Houston will be in South Carolina for the upcoming week, playing two more matches in the Cup and preparing for their visit to Pachuca in the CONCACAF semis.
Salt Lake: It appears that the Stormin' Mormons will be hosting Plaza Amador, striker Luis Tejada's former club. The club is a five time Panamanian champion, I'm assuming the match was probably part of the transfer arrangement.
LA: The Gals are bringing in Shavar Thomas, a defender from Kansas City. Not too shabby, they only gave up a "conditional second round" pick for him. I saw the Wiz play a few times last year and Thomas seemed like a pretty average MLS-level defender, he's definitely worth a second round pick. I wonder why KC soured on him...
Oh yeah, Josh Gardner is now officially gone. I'll be shocked if he doesn't land somewhere in MLS quickly.
Kansas City: The Wiz have been in Argentina for a training camp, and they defeated a River Plate reserve team 4-0 while on the trip. They have new training grounds in KC now, and they're not on the crappy, leftover Chiefs field at the Arrowhead complex.
Dallas: The Hoops rebounded from the loss in Puerto Rico tonight, defeating the Rochester Rhinos 2-0. Newcomer Juan Carlos Toja and Arturo Alvarez scored the goals. More from the Dallas perspective here...
I really want to see this proposed 4-2-3-1 formation Dallas is supposed to be playing.
Chicago: The Fire dropped a friendly result to Miami FC of USL D1 1-0. Zinho wasn't even playing, what's up Chicago?
