CONCACAF LIVE BLOG (aka Can we please score some goals MLS???)

The answer 39 minutes into the first half of the DC game is no. Emilio had a chance to cut the deficit in half, but missed by inches at the far post. DC is getting the ball wide and getting crosses in, but there aren't enough numbers in the box for them to be effective. I don't think the crosses are the way for DC, Moreno and Emilio aren't exactly lethal in the air...

How in the blue hell did Emilio not score?????????????????????? I just don't see it happening after the misses he's had tonight. Should be 2-2 at this point...

I think I'll cut the head off a live chicken at halftime to try to break the hex.

Very, very, very frustrating first half for DC. We are scoreless.

We're back, I will not reveal if the chicken trick was used or not. Let's see how this concludes. I don't want PETA to blow up the Cupcake Nation.

I think the foul count is 87-2. Think we can even that out?

Santino misses badly.

Pachuca runs through another DC midfielder, no foul???? Pachuca scores, but wait, they call it back for some unnamed reason. I think they called offside, but it made absolutely no sense. Maybe they just felt bad for the horrible no-call that led up to the chance...

DC has to get mean, they're getting bullied here.

Well with a hell of a save. Something has to break here, either Pachuca ends it with a goal or DC catches a lucky break on a counter.

Well, Fred just got dragged down from behind in the box and there's another no-call to benefit Pachuca. It's really getting a little ridiculous. DC can't catch a break...

Emilio saved off a header. I'm seriously looking for a chicken now.

Maybe El Enano can save the day. Nah, he'll probably just hit the ground 87 times in 25 minutes.

They finally call a foul, and Burch sends in a middle school level free kick. UGH

The only real positive tonight is how good DC has looked with 3 in the back. It gives them that option later on this season, if needed. Hey, I'm looking for something to take out of the frustrating experience.

Well, adios to CONCACAF again. Pachuca scores to make it 3-0 on aggregate. I'm shutting it down until Houston gets going...

I lied, I return from my pissed off haze to report that Rod Dyachenko scored. Hooray. I'm excited. Dancing in the aisles. Oh wait, DCU is still 2 FREAKING GOALS DOWN.

Well... El Enano scores in the 90th minute. It's 3-2 on aggregate now, but they're in stoppage time. This would be quite the miracle...

Lovely, plenty of subs, three goals, and WE ONLY GET 2 MINUTES OF STOPPAGE TIME??? I hate you referee.

I'M SO SICK OF GETTING THIS CLOSE, UGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's frustrating trying to be satisfied with keeping it close. We need to start winning these series at some point. When will this not be good enough?

Still waiting for Saprissa-Houston to start... It's beer time...

The new PennyTalk commercial sucks, bring back Pedro's friend!

No Centeno to start for Saprissa, odd...

Craig Waibel slides, and looks like a burn victim. Is this turf worse that the Pepsi field at Silverbacks Park?

Wow, Houston has to make a sub 5 minutes in for Waibel, looks like he blew the hamstring.

Tony Caig has the most hideous goalkeeper jersey I've seen this side of Jorge Campos.

Well, I kinda saw this one coming. Saprissa 3-0. Sorry for the lack of teh blogging, I had kind of had enough by that point.

It sucks to spend 3 hours watching something that you already knew what the final result would be...

At this point, CONCACAF tournaments with US club teams have a Charlie Brown & Lucy feel to them

Taking this years DCU-Pachuca, last year's DCU-Chivas & Houston-Pachuca, ones from the past like KC-Saprissa, LA-Saprissa, and others...

Yeah, you nailed it. Lucy hates MLS.
