Houston: Joseph Ngwenya is taking his MLS championship medal and heading off to Austria to join SK Austria for the remainder of the season. There's an option for 08/09, but it wouldn't shock me to see him back in MLS this summer since SK Austria is in last place in the league. Nate Jaqua is also in Austria trying to find a deal.
The Dynamo released Paul Dalglish, who's going to play next to Chingy? Maybe Snoop is ready after training with Becks and they can do another Holidae Inn remix?
Chivas USA: The American Goats have traded for Jim Curtain of Chicago. They gave up a 6-pack of Corona and a bag of balls, no wait, it's really conditional draft picks. I think the 6-pack might've been a better deal.
Chicago: While they missed out on the beer, the Fire have supposedly traded for Andy Herron of Columbus. He's been in Costa Rica with Puntarenas, but will be rejoining the Fire once his loan deal is up. They gave the Crew a 2010 4th round draft pick.
Toronto: Local youth clubs are supposedly causing problems for the new Toronto FC youth academy. Imagine that, I for one am shocked and appalled. That would never happen here, right? Right? Oh, never mind...
Seattle: Emerald City Seattle Sounders FC, or whatever it ends up being called, will have the option to bring as many players from this year's Sounders to MLS as they like. Coach Schmetzer says there's between 6-8 who could make the jump. Things sound good in Seattle...
DC: Franco Neill is done, according to Mr. Goff (although Yahoo Sports beat him on that one). Other announcements could be forthcoming later this week.
There's also the shirt sponsor business, which is rumored to be announced soon as well. Verizon is the odds on favorite. DC even ditched its 3 stripes across the chest to make room for a sponsor, so I guess it should be coming soon.
Kansas City: The Wiz deal with Ivan Trujillo is done, according to our KC blog friends.
And this guy might not be making it to Kansas City... Yikes.
