Sprinkles: Men at Work

LA: The Gals lost last night/this morning in Australia to Sydney FC 5-3. Over 80,000 saw the match, plus the worldwide TV audience (worldwide minus the US). LA went down 3-0 in the first half before some guy named Beckham scored on a free kick before halftime. Edson Buddle and Landon Donovan scored the other LA goals in the second half.

Other than the tickets sold, the trip went well for the Gals as they sold 20K jerseys during their time in Australia. Next up is a trip to New Zealand and a game with the Wellington Phoenix.

Dallas: Assistant coach Oscar Pareja has left FCD to join Wilmer Cabrera as an assistant with the U17 US national team. Pareja has been with Dallas for nearly a decade as a player and coach and will be sorely missed in Texas.

New York: The Red Bulls continue to try to break up other teams' relationships, this time making a play for Preki to join the Red Bulls as their replacement for Bruce Arena.

San Jose: The Quakes have made some moves, building off of their expansion draft picks. They traded Brian Carroll to Columbus for forward Kei Kamara and shipped a draft pick over to Chivas USA for Preston Burpo.

Seattle: The unnamed team is over 8K in season ticket deposits already, not too shabby.

Two random questions to finish it off...
  • Is that Richie Williams in line during the Adam Vinatieri SportsCenter commercial?
  • Is that the old ESPN soccer intro music being used during the Family Guy/Subway commercial?
