Sprinkles: The Devil Comes Down to DC

The rain continues to pour here in the ATL, as do the Sprinkles...

DC: It's being reported that Marco Etcheverry will be joining the DC United organization, possibly as the Director of Youth Development. That position has been open since John Harkes left for Red Bull. Arena mentioned the possibility of bringing Etch into the national team coaching staff before last summer's World Cup, so I guess that's another possibility. The press conference is set for 5:45 today, before the Olimpia match.

As long he's not becoming the team hairstylist, it's all good.

New York: It looks like MSG will once again be the television home of the Red Bulls, although it hasn't been signed just yet.

Peter Philipakos' trial has ended. Our friend Ives Galarcep was not all that broken up about it either, although the Red Bulls' staff handled things professionally. By most accounts, he wasn't in proper shape to take advantage of the opportunity.

Los Angeles: The British Invasion continues, Darren Currie of Ipswich Town is with the Galaxy on a two week trial. Our British brethren have a post about it here, complete with some video highlights. So if Beckham is like The Beatles in this scenario, is Currie like the Cutting Crew?

Toronto: The Conor Casey Show continues, with no resolution yet. He's training with the Canadian squad, but isn't an official part of the roster yet due to the MLS allocation rules. Colorado is still trying to make things happen, I guess.
