The Olympics, weren't they just great?

The Olympics were such a great experience. I hope all of you had the chance to watch a lot of it. I was watching sports that I've never watched before, just because it was the Olympics. I'd never usually watch badminton or team handball, but I did over the last few weeks.

Wasn't Michael Phelps just amazing? It was pretty cool to be sitting at the Brewhouse watching his last gold medal win, and everybody in the bar was cheering for him. I think his Olympics was the greatest athletic feat I've ever seen. How do you follow that up?

I even watched the gymnastics. How about Alicia Sacramone falling apart during the team competition? That was horrible, you had to feel bad for her. If anybody can explain how the tiebreaker in the event finals was fair, please explain it.

The Redeem Team was pretty impressive. It was nice to see the US basketball team actually care about playing for their country. I guess the embarrassments of the last few years are now in the past. They finally played like a team, instead of an all-star collection of good players. It does make a huge difference.

I can't wait for London in 4 years!

This post is in direct response to the Silverbacks-Rochester game last night. After watching that debacle, I now hate soccer and don't want to talk about it for a while. Horrible...

I can't blame the coach or the players too much for that one. No one at all up top or on the wings to take the pressure off of the midfield. Toure would have been a HUGE asset in this game.

No, you can't blame the coach for this one.

I mean, I totally agree with his substitutes.

Really, if I was the coach and my team was losing 1-0, I'd totally use my first two substitutes in the 60th minute to switch out my two central defenders for two more central defenders.

I wouldn't want to give up more goals so we could only lose 1-0.

And for the record, I am definitely in favor of more posts with pics of Alicia Sacramone.

I really want to talk about the game, but I'm not ready yet. It's too soon, still makes me sad.

Hopefully I'll be over this affliction of suck soon...

Alicia Sacramone.... cupcakes.... mmmm......

And if you're switching to a 3-5-2 it always makes sense to sub in defenders for midfielders because you can never have enough defenders on the field when you're trying to push the attack..... yeah exactly.
