While I have other commitments tonight, some of the Cupcake Nation will be in attendance at the Silverbacks' season opener at the RE/MAX. Over $2 million in improvements have taken place since we were last there for USL action.
There have also been improvements in the roster, with a greater level of depth than the team has ever had before. That depth is proving necessary already, with a number of players injured or finishing up their MISL playoff runs. They will be tested tonight against a scrappy Carolina team, a team that loved to fight and claw last year (it seemed like there was a pull apart confrontation in every game with the Railhawks last year), and a team that has also improved its firepower up front. Former Silverback and last year's leading scorer Dan Antoniuk makes his return to Atlanta tonight, and he's bringing former Georgia Perimeter College standout Martin Nunez with him.
