Sprinkles: Guadalajara blues

DC: United fell 1-0 to Chivas last night, going out of the Copa Sudamericana on away goals after a 2-2 aggregate. The first half saw some nice counterattacks, but the bunker was built too early to start the second half. You just can't give away that much possession to a team of Chivas' quality in their stadium. It took a world class strike from Ramon Morales, but that's all Chivas needed.

Houston: The Dynamo are waiting on the suspension for Ricardo Clark for his attempted punting of Carlos Ruiz. Just in case you haven't seen it yet, watch it here. I've never seen anything like that happen, I'd love to hear what exactly set Clark off. There was talk about a punch from Ruiz in the back, but I couldn't see it. Ives says it certainly looks like a punch was thrown.

San Jose: The "new" Earthquakes are making a major announcement this afternoon. No early word on what it could be yet, I guess we'll just have to wait.

EDIT: John Doyle has been named General Manager of Soccer Operations. Quality move by the Quakes, Doyle should do well in this role. He has to be better than Alexi, right?

Columbus: The Crew are also on announcement duty, unveiling their jersey sponsor this Thursday.

Seattle: There's still conflicting reports about the actual status of the MLS bid for 2009, and the if the name will be Sounders, but some kind of word is expected in the next few weeks. The USL Sounders are also up in the air, due to the MLS move. We'll just have to wait it out.
