A secret no more

Macoumba Kandji of the Silverbacks was named USL D1 Player of the Week for this two goal weekend against Puerto Rico and Miami. The guy is going to be trouble for the 1st Division the rest of the way, let's see what Carolina tries to do to stop him on Friday night.

I do have to agree with oldie over at the USL Discussions site, where's the love for David Hayes? He had two goals as well, and he's a defender. Shouldn't that get you extra bonus points when it comes to these sorts of things?

Kandji has now become the poster child of the USL. Have you noticed that every time his name is mentioned on the air and in print that they have to tell you he came up through the PDL? He is the perfect player to validate their pyramid system.

Yeah, you play a handful of games in the PDL last summer and suddenly you're a product of that league.

Good for the USL to try to take advantage though...

While browsing through the USL discussion boards, I noticed that even GolTV has picked up on the Kandji phenomenon.
