MLS Weekend thoughts

If you missed the FSC game in Dallas, you missed a fun one. The Crew dominated the first half, and took a deserved 1-0 lead into the locker room at halftime. The Hoops came out angry in the second half, and Alvarez had a ball for him perfectly in the box to level the score. Columbus lucked out to retake the lead when Chris Gbandi hauled down Frankie Hejduk in the box for absolutely no reason, Hejduk had no angle to do anything dangerous. Andy Herron's PK gave the Crew another lead.

Just when you thought it was over, Dallas came storming back. Saragosa chipped a beautiful cross to the far post to El Pescadito, who buried it. On the kickoff, Saragosa lost his head and gave a Crew a forearm shiver to the neck. He was sent off, and it looked like Columbus would be in control again. That wasn't the case for some reason, as Dallas looked much better playing with ten men than the Crew did with eleven. Dallas won a corner in the 93rd minute, and a completely unmarked Clarence Goodson found the back of the net with a header from the near post.

I didn't get to see the HDNet game, but somehow the CRapids were able to take down the Dynamo. Of course, they couldn't do the job themselves, and needed a DDR own goal to do the trick. I just don't understand Colorado, I thought everything was in place for a big year for them.

Later today, the Reds head to New York to do battle with the Red Bulls. The Beckham road show continues on to New England where the Gals will meet up with the Revs. LA and Toronto really need the points on the road to climb into the playoff picture. The last few weeks of this season could be quite interesting...
