Silverbacks-Rochester live blog - Second Half

We're underway, and it looks like there are no changes for either team.

47' - Buete sends in a driven cross, but Ukah's header in the six-yard box goes just over the bar. I think Buete just became Eric Wynalda's favorite USL player.

54' - Ball lays off a ball for Palguta, who one-timer is deflected by Jarun and off the post. Corner amounts to nothing. If that would have gone in, that would have been two horrible mistakes by Jarun in as many games.

55' - Another yellow for Rochester, this one to Novak. Buete was the recipient of the foul yet again.

61' - Ukah again gets his head to a cross but puts it over. Harrison has looked awful on crosses tonight. If Atlanta can actually put one on goal it should give them a second goal.

66' - Rochester subs: Ambersley for Menyongar, and Martinez for Perry. The Rhinos are going with three up top, so it will get interesting for the Atlanta defense.

69' - Atlanta sub: Moore for Ukah. Looks like the Silverbacks are going to sit back and hope for a 1-0 win.

70' - The Silverbacks are going with 5 defenders right now, with Antoniuk alone at the top. Rios has filled some of Ukah's space, but he should play a little withdrawn. Corner coming up for Atlanta...easily headed out by Rochester.

72' - Another Rochester sub: Kramer for Lines. Pretty much a straight-up swap, but Kramer should give them more energy.

73' - For god's sake Laurie, let me rest!! Rochester subs Bolton for Burns. They have one sub left.

75' - Atlanta still has Quintero, Queeley, Woolfolk and Rivillo on the bench. Unfortunately I can't see where any of them would fit in as subs right now. Rivillo will probably come into the midfield, but I don't see who he would come in for. Buete has looked good, McManus has played well as your d-mid, and Rodrigo is up front with Antoniuk. Hassim still has some speed right now, but he looks like the probably sub if there is one.

76' - Free kick for Rochester. Ball sent into the box but headed away. 1-0 Atlanta with 14 minutes left.

77' - Horrible miss for Atlanta. Hassim with a nice low cross, Antoniuk whiffs, and Rios hits it softly. Harrison makes a mess of it for a corner. It should be 2-0 Atlanta.

78' - Jarun fouls on the corner. Novak is injured, so Aloisi comes in for Rochester's final sub.

81' - Delicate with a wild shot high and wide. This is where Atlanta needs to slow the game down and keep possession.

83' - McIntosh with a great save on Ambersley's volley. McIntosh still hasn't given up a goal as a Silverback.

85' - Nervous moments for Atlanta. Scramble in the box, but Rochester can't get a shot off. They have a corner...headed out by Jarun. Antoniuk plays a nice through ball to Hassim, but he can't control it.

86' - McManus and Antoniuk down with cramps. Rivillo and Woolfolk on? We'll see.

88' - McManus still off the field, 'Backs playing with 10 men.

89' - Buete is down. He's fought all night long. Antoniuk is pushing back on defense.
We're about to get into stoppage time.

90' - Four minutes added. Buete is back on - gutsy moves by Jason Smith to not sub anyone for the last 20 minutes with five fresh Rhinos on.

90+' - Rios off for Queeley, AND HE GIVES THE ARMBAND TO MCMANUS!!! Looks like that conversation we had with Tony on Tuesday made him aware that when Rodrigo comes off, someone has to be the captain.

90+' - GOOOOOOL!! QUEELEY ON THE BREAKAWAY!! Unbelievable. 2-0 for Atlanta.
IT'S OVER!!

Can the guy get his name on the back of his jersey now?

They never looked like they were in control of the match, but it's a good win. Good job all around.

It seemed like Rochester completely ran out of steam in the last ten minutes or so...

Curious if we will run out of gas in the return leg after playing an exhibition match that week.

Yeah, it's going to be tough with 6 games in 16 days.

Hopefully it will force Smith to use his whole roster and get to see who can help down the stretch...
