Sprinkles: Say your prayers and take your vitamins, New England! Beckham-mania is running wild on you!

New England: Some interesting points in this Japan Times article. First, the Revs trials with Japanese players Takashi Hirano and Takuya Yamada ended without contracts being offered. Assistant coach Paul Mariner said that the pair didn't have the athletic tools to last in MLS in wide midfield positions.

The second point was Mariner saying that the Revs have sold 40,000 tickets already for their game with Galaxy in August. Beckham-mania is running wild in New England!

The Revs are also still talking to Robbie Fowler's agent, but having problems coming up with the amount of money that Fowler seeks. After some of the comments attributed to Fowler and his agent about MLS not being serious, I wouldn't waste my time. That's just me though...

DC: United has signed Kasali Yinka Casal, a 19-year old formerly in Fulham's reserves, to a senior contract and KiKi Willis, a 20-year old who left Elon University early, to a developmental contract. Both could be in uniform for tonight's match with Chivas.

Also, El Presidente Goff is reporting that Fred (he of the Performance Enhancing Underwear and the Melbourne Victory) has been picked up by DCU operatives in Latin America and will be at RFK tonight as well. He won't be in uniform, there's still clearance issues with his former club to work out.

New York: The Red Bulls and Chivas USA tied 2-2 in an exhibition on Wednesday. Jozy Altidore tied the game in the 71st minute, after the Goats had come back from a Todd Dunivant goal. According to Ives, Arena is trying to decide between a 4-5-1 or a 4-4-2 formation, and some spots on the field are still up for grabs as well.

Salt Lake: Former MLS great Robin Fraser is heading up a RSL youth affiliate in Arizona.

Chicago: The Blanco rumors are still kicking around the internets and the papers. I don't even care at this point, just do something already!

Colorado: The Rapids have hopped a plane to Spain for an upcoming friendly with Champions' League quarterfinalist Valencia. I doubt they'll see much of Valencia's first team, but it's a good challenge nonetheless.

Houston: I lied yesterday, Brian Ching still isn't ready to start. What's going on with him? Is this something that will linger all season? Ching, DeRo, and Eddie Robinson will all be on the bench for the match today with Pachuca.

Los Angeles: Cobi Jones and the Galaxy will be making a "major" announcement on Monday. My guess is that this will be Cobi's last season as a pro and that he will be kept on in the organization after his retirement. Although, a Cobi Jones reality show is also a possibility with this squad. Look for wacky hijinks to ensue with Alexi Lalas showing up late at night to eat all the food in Cobi's fridge...
